Henshaw (Edward) House is built.
1870
(ca.) One of four contiguous houses built by George Wheatland Jr., it is located at 299 Beacon Street (1 Exeter Street). Its first occupants are the wholesaler and his wife Frances Simmons Henshaw. Converted to a lodging house in the early 1950s, it is returned to use as a single-family house by former lieutenant governor Thomas O’Neill III and his wife in 1984.
